Monday, December 28th, 2009100% Digital fiber optics connected all the way to my home — Verizon offers FiOS promotions where I can count on a fiber optics cable all the way to my home for unmatched speed and reliability. How is FiOS different from other cable companies? Most cable companies only have fiber optic cables in their main lines, not in the entire infrastructure, and not “fiber-to-the-home.” Rather, they rely on traditional copper wires or coaxial cables. Fiber optics cables are less subject to inclement weather and are easier to maintain. DSL copper phone lines can’t boast that. Current promotions include FiOS Television and FiOS internet, plus bundled deals that offer cash back and lower monthly bills.
Okay, I’m convinced FiOs is the technology of the future; my next step is to check and see if Verizon is one of the internet service providers in my area.
